Bis ins 19. Jahrhundert hinein war Wexfort eine bl\u00fchende Hafenstadt. Die Versandung des Hafens setzte dem ein Ende. Heute dominiert die Industrie. Die Altstadt wirkt eher d\u00fcster, der Hafenquai (offenbar ist man den Sand wieder losgeworden) daf\u00fcr sehr ansprechend.
