Oulu liegt noch knapp unterhalb der fiktiven Grenze zu Lappland (Lappland ist eine Region, ohne genau definierte Grenzen). Bis nach Roveniemi, der Hauptstadt Lapplands, sind es aber nur noch gut zweihundert Kilometer. Mit knapp 150&#8217;000 Einwohnern ist Oulu die gr\u00f6sste Stadt Nordfinnlands. Sie ist Bischofssitz, Universit\u00e4tsstadt und eines der bedeutendsten Wirtschaftszentren Finnlands mit starken Wachstumsraten. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die Stadt allerdings nicht (das tr\u00fcbe Wetter ist vielleicht nicht ganz unschuldig daran).
