Aus der Distanz hat man das Gef\u00fchl, dass es sich um ein Hochhaus aus der Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts handelt. Erst aus der N\u00e4he erkennt man, dass das hohe Geb\u00e4ude eine Kirche ist. Die \u00c9glise Saint-Joseph ist einerseits eine katholische Pfarrkirche, die in den sechziger Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts erbaut wurde, andererseits aber auch eine Gedenkst\u00e4tte f\u00fcr die Zerst\u00f6rung von Le Havre w\u00e4hrend des zweiten Weltkriegs.
